Jourdan Lewis' senior season debut appears to be on hold for yet another week.
Held out of the season opener for precautionary reasons, it appears that Lewis would be held out again for similar reasons against UCF. Appearing in street clothes before the game, there wasn't anything visibly ailing with Lewis, and U-M head coach Jim Harbaugh said another issue popped up for Lewis that week that required him to sit out of the game.
"Something different came up, just muscle strain in a different location," Harbaugh said. "I don't know [the timetable for return,] I didn't get my doctors degree. We'll see, I'm not going to be taking any chances with it. We had an MRI and there was a signal there, a near type of pull. He's just good of a player, he's worked too hard. We're not going to put him out there in a position where its silly to go ahead and get the muscle pull. So, that's where it's at. I just call it a near pull, it shows up on the MRI and glad we can do MRI's around here, glad we can do that for our players and give them the best available.
True freshman David Long was another defensive back that appeared in street clothes before the game, in terms of his availability going forward, Harbaugh skipped over the question and would rather discuss football.
"As you know, I'm not going to come in here and have the health of the team meeting with you guys every week or day," Harbaugh said.
