Def. Recap: D-line Stifles PSU Up Front

TMI's Josh Newkirk & Sam Webb breakdown Michigan's defensive performance against Penn State, as the Wolverines defensive line racked up six sacks in the 49-10 win.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Michigan's defensive line dominated from the first snap on Saturday, recording six sacks in the process, defeating Penn State easily 49-10

What stood out defensively? Well, TMI's Josh Newkirk and Sam Webb break it down in the video posted above.

Topics include:

  1. D-Line owns PSU -- Chris Wormley and Taco Charlton each recorded 1.5 sacks, with Chase Winovich, Matt Godin and Maurice Hurst each finishing with one. Simply put, PSU had no answers to stop U-M up front.
  2. Jourdan Lewis is back -- Michigan's star defender admitted he was rusty post game, but certainly added depth to U-M's secondary on Saturday, as the Wolverines limited PSU to only 121 yards passing.
  3. Jeremy Clark out with ACL -- Clark went down with an apparent leg injury late in the fourth quarter, Jim Harbaugh said it looked like an ACL tear afterwards. Now, well, Michigan needs some of its youth to fill the void.
