Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh gave his thoughts on the firing of Les Miles at LSU.

Just one day after LSU officially fired head football coach Les Miles, Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh was asked about the developing situation.

"I have a ton of respect for Les and Cam (Cameron)," Harbaugh said. "Haven't talked to him yet but hope to soon."

A former Michigan football player for Bo Schembechler, and graduate assistant in the early 80's, Miles name was in the mix to be Michigan's coach following the retirement of Lloyd Carr in 2007 and firing of Rich Rodriguez after the 2010 season.

Appearing on the Dan Patrick Show on Monday to discuss what happened at LSU, Miles says he'll now be rooting for his alma mater.

Harbaugh was asked if he'll consider inviting Miles back as an honors captain this season or potentially bring him in as an analyst for the football program.

"Yeah those are, yeah, good suggestions," Harbaugh said.
