Michigan suffered its first loss of the season a week ago and the Wolverines are currently looking to avoid the second straight upset that could all but ruin its chances for postseason play. Before they can look ahead to the looming contest against Ohio State, the Indiana Hoosiers are coming to town looking to avenge the loss it suffered against U-M a season ago.
Can the Wolverines bounce back strong?
The Michigan Insider previews the upcoming game.
Last Meeting: Michigan defeated Indiana 48-41 in double overtime last season.
What a win means for Michigan: It might not seem like much on paper, but this would be a big win for U-M. After a crushing loss last week, it's easy to see a repeat performance. However, a victory over Indiana means that it took care of business and they are prepared for the final showdown against the Buckeyes next week. A big win for Michigan would cure a lot of ailments suffered last week.
What a win means for Indiana: A victory by Indiana would all but ruin what's left of the Wolverines' season. The Hoosiers would love nothing more than to play the role of the spoiler and avenge the loss it suffered against U-M last season. Considering Indiana has lost 20 straight against U-M, a victory would mean the world to head coach Kevin Wilson and the rest of the program.
Player to watch: While this section is typically used to single out a player on the opposing team, U-M quarterback John O'Korn would be a player to watch if Wilton Speight is unable to play on Saturday. Only seeing minimal time this season, has O'Korn grown like Speight has in a backup role and can he lead the team like his predecessor has this season? Only time will tell if that happens, but there's a lot of weight that will be resting squarely on his shoulders if his number is called on Saturday.
