Michigan has continued to actively recruit the Lone Star State and recently offered one the top upcoming defensive backs in Houston (Tex.) Lamar 2018 cornerback D’Shawn Jamison.
“The defensive back coach came to school,” Jamison told The Michigan Insider. “I wasn't expecting them to come, so when they came by and my coach told me they offered me I was shocked but happy.”
After his solid junior campaign, the 5-foot-10, 168-pounder is quickly approaching to double-digit offers. However, his latest offer from the Wolverines has significantly piqued his interest in the Maize and Blue, especially after seeing this aggressive attacking defense under Don Brown.
“I’m very interested in Michigan,” said Jamison. “I love their defense because the amount of speed they have out there and the coverages too. I think I could fit perfectly in the defense.”
One of the catalysts that manned Michigan’s stout defense this season was versatile playmaker Jabrill Peppers, who is a player Robinson looks at very highly.
“Yeah, he’s a role model because he has no fear in him and he's very explosive when running great ball skills,” said Jamison. “I like to play on both sides of the ball and last we both wear #5.”
Going forward, the four-star defender now hopes to visit Ann Arbor in the future and get an opportunity to meet the headman too.
“Yeah, I want to visit,” said Jamison. “I want to see if the school matches my major and if my skills can fit. I’m going for graphics and design (photography). (Coach Harbaugh) is also a great coach, he coaches the team very well, and he produces very good defensive backs.”
