Sept 13 Visit Update

GBW talked to Culver City (Culver City, Calif) WR <b>Jaison Williams</b> and the Godfather of De La Salle (Concord, Calif) WR <b>Cameron Colvin</b> this evening. There is some interesting <b>"Early"</b> visit news!

Jaison Williams (6-4, 212 lbs., 4.49 in the 40, 260 bench press, 2.6 GPA, 840 SAT) still thinks highly of Michigan, but others have come into the picture. "Michigan is still my favorite, but USC has moved up a lot. I'd say they are the top two right now. I want to wait a while and check out what other schools are going to do. Schools like Notre Dame and Oklahoma haven't offered me yet but they've showed some interest. I think they want to see how I do this year."

Last time we talked with Williams he said he was going to sit down with his coach and set up a visit to Michigan. "No, I haven't done that yet. Since the coaches can contact me now I think I'll just wait for them to call."

Comments: Williams' Culver City team plays St. Bernard on the 12th so getting to Michigan for the Notre Dame game on the 13th will mean catching a redeye flight after the game. The only open week the Centaurs have is the weekend of Nov 7-9, which happens to be the off-week for the Wolverines as well. Williams' season ends the week before the OSU game so that may be a possibility, but if Culver City is in the playoffs it may be difficult. We'll keep you up to date.

I received a phone call this evening from Jay Lightner, Godfather of U-M prospect Cameron Colvin (Sept. 13 official visit, STAN Nike stats: 6-1, 188 lbs., 4.31 in the 40, 3.85 shuttle, 32.4 inch vertical, 13 bench press reps. … 2.3 GPA/16 ACT). He gave me some very interesting news. "Hi Don, I just got off the phone with the family of Early Doucet (St. Martinsville, LA WR 6-1, 205, 4.4 in the 40, The Insiders #1 wide receiver prospect). Cameron and Early have been talking about going to the same school together and have decided they will both visit Michigan for the Notre Dame game. They talked to Ron English this evening and everything is set up."

Colvin has been favoring Michigan throughout his recruiting. Doucet seems to be leaning towards other schools. "That's why they both want to visit Michigan." Lightner said, "They're both sure they want to go to school together. Cameron really favors Michigan. I'll tell you what, some school is going to be very lucky to get those two kids." Doucet and Colvin were at the Miami Summer Camp together. Doucet has an offer from Michigan -- we'll bring you more on him soon.
