Signing Day Capsule: Jordan Anthony

Get to know Michigan's 2017 linebacker signee Jordan Anthony on national signing day.

Jordan Anthony could go down as one of the most important signings of the 2017 recruiting class for Michigan. The IMG linebacker boasts a boatload of talent that so many schools coveted. However, at the end of the day, the Wolverines were always sticking around in Anthony's mind, which eventually led him to choose the Wolverines.

"Anthony does so many things well, but what stands above all else is his ability to tackle in space. If it 1-on-1 with a running back, he is winning it. He changes direction well, has the ability to find the ball carrier in traffic, and he gets off blocks well. He can blitz from the edge or the middle, and he can chance down on the backside. He has very good instincts and should be a tremendous weakside linebacker in college." -- Brian Dohn

"I'll be heading to the University of Michigan," Anthony told Scout. "Just honestly, the coaching staff really has a plan for me and know what they want to do with me.

"Of course I like the university. Each time I visited, it felt like home and the place I want to be. I definitely like the campus, and the atmosphere with the fans, they love the sport and they love the school; they're definitely hardcore fans.

"With the major I want to study in, there are not really many better places you can go to get a great education like that."

Anthony has the skills and talent to play day one for the Wolverines in a defense that needs to reload next season. As said above, Anthony could be one of the most important signings for the Wolverines simply for what he can bring to the table.
