One of the top offensive lineman prospects in the Midwest for 2018 is Sciotoville (OH.) Portsmouth East junior offensive tackle Blaine Scott. He already holds offers from Michigan State, Ole Miss, Penn State, Florida, Kentucky and Louisville amongst several others.
However, one school that he hasn’t had much contact with is the Wolverines, but he hopes that certainly changes.
“Yeah (I’ve heard from Michigan) a little bit, but not too much,” Scott told The Michigan Insider. “I don't know too much (about Michigan), but I know the history and tradition behind the program and the great football. Absolutely (I’m interested), the tradition and success and the energy Coach Harbaugh is bringing is awesome.”
While Scott doesn’t hold an offer from Michigan at the moment, if one were to come, then it would definitely be a spot he would want to go see.
“I would definitely go up and check it out,” said Scott. “Absolutely (I would be more interested).”
One of the reasons Scott is intrigued about the Maize and Blue is because of their headman, Jim Harbaugh.
“I think he's a motivator and he is an awesome person,” said Scott. “I think he is someone who relates to our generation and I could see myself playing for.”
The 6-5, 295-pounder currently plans to commit on May 5th, but maintains no schools are standing out yet. When that time does roll around, he does have a few main factors he will be taking into consideration.
“1. Academics, 2. atmosphere and 3. tradition,” said Scott.
