A school that Michigan is very familiar with is Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy. The Wolverines traveled down there last year for their annual spring practices and in this past class just signed offensive lineman Cesar Ruiz from IMG. Since then, several new offers have been sent out to the loaded Ascenders' roster including recently to mammoth 2018 offensive tackle Verdis Brown.
“They told one of our coaches that they wanted to offer me,” Brown told The Michigan Insider. “I was shocked. I was also super excited about it. It means that there more reason to keep doing the right thing. They’re a top program and they don’t offer everyone.”
The 6-foot-5, 295-pound Brown is Scout’s No. 154 ranked overall prospect in the nation and an early four-star with over double digit-offers. However, his offer from the Wolverines has him very intrigued with what they have to offer both on and off the field.
“I’m very interested,” said Brown. “It is a solid program and it is No. 27 according to best college colleges for academics, which are big to me.”
Could Brown possibly be thinking of taking a trip to check out the Maize and Blue?
“Yeah, I plan on going soon,” said Brown. “I am excited (about visiting) and will be going with my brother.”
