It’s an offer, he says, came when called Michigan assistant Chris Partridge, who responded with the good news.
“I gave him a call and we just talked,” Vann said. “He said, ‘congratulations on your offer.’ When I was on the phone my mouth just dropped. I didn’t have a response. It was surprising.”
Now that his Michigan offer, Vann says “of course” his plan is to head up to Ann Arbor for a visit sometime soon.
“I would like to go up there and learn more about Michigan football,” Vann said. “Hopefully I can see a lot of great stuff. Hopefully I can see some stuff I have never seen before.”
Vann says, in no particular order, that his top-five schools at the moment are Georgia, South Carolina, Michigan, Kansas State and Alabama. Also, he noted distance would not play a factor in his decision.
“It’s probably not going to play that big of role,” said Vann, who plans to visit South Carolina this weekend. “But I would like my parent to come to my games. But they always say that it’s my decision.”
As far as a decision timeline, Vann says he may make his mind up before summers end.
“I might try to commit before my senior year and see how that plays out,” he said.
