U-M leads for Peach State '19 ATH

Suwanee (Ga.) North Gwinnett 2019 dynamic athlete Javonni Cunningham talks about his Michigan offer and more

The Wolverines have found success recently in Georgia landing one of their best in five-star defensive tackle Aubrey Solomon last recruiting class. Michigan has already extended many offers down in Georgia including to Suwanee (Ga.) North Gwinnett 2019 athlete Javonni Cunningham. The sleeper prospect held only an offer from Howard before the Wolverines came calling and it’s an offer that has definitely grabbed his attention.

“I was super excited to receive an offer from such a prestigious university as Michigan.,” Cunningham told The Michigan Insider. “It’s truly a blessing from God. I really appreciate the coaches taking their time out to recruit me and I am very blessed and excited to have received an offer from the University of Michigan.”

The 5-foot-10, 170-pound playmaker admits his interest in the Wolverines has quickly risen since picking up the offer. One of the main reasons is his strong affinity towards Michigan’s man in change, Jim Harbaugh.

“I’m very, very interested,” said Cunningham. “To have an opportunity to play for a legendary coach like Coach Harbaugh and a university like Michigan is awesome! Coach Harbaugh is a great coach. When he’s coaching he knows what he’s doing and does everything for a reason. In addition to being a great coach he also is very good with connecting to his players.”

After landing an offer from the Wolverines, where do the Maize and Blue now sit in his recruitment?

“Michigan is at the top,” Cunningham. "I do plan on visiting too. I’m not sure when yet, but I definitely want to.”
