FRISCO, Texas – Colleyville (Texas) Heritage super sophomore Kameron Brown came to Nike’s The Opening regional on Sunday for one reason – to compete.
And, well, after a long afternoon of competing against Dallas areas best, the rising 2019 wide receiver found himself on the winning end of multiple one-on-one match ups.
“I was very excited to be able to come out and compete against some of the best kids,” Brown said. “They come from all over, people just don’t come from Dallas, and people come from Houston, everywhere all over to compete.”
On a recruiting front, colleges are already competing for Brown’s services too. And just recently, Michigan added its name to his extensive offer list.
“I was excited,” Brown said when heard the news of his Michigan offer. “I’m going to try to get up there in the summertime, because I’m so busy right now with our school. I’m getting ready for spring ball. So I’m going to try to get up there in the summer.”
Adding: “It’s a big time program,” Brown said. “I want to get up to there for camp. I went to their (satellite) camp last year. They get after it. I like the way coach teaches everything, coach (Jim) Harbaugh is really turning it around.”
While only a sophomore, Brown already has notable offers from Alabama, TCU, UCLA and Florida State, among others in his recruitment.
“Two things I am looking for is great coaching and academics,” Brown said. “Because a lot of schools have great facilities and everything, but not a lot of schools have great coaching. And academics help you outside of football.”
Coming up, Brown says he plans on visiting UCLA this weekend, Texas A&M on March 18, Alabama and TCU.
