Michigan has experienced a few changes on their coaching staff this off-season including a new running backs coach in Jay Harbaugh after Tyrone Wheatley decided to go back to the NFL. In his new position, Jay Harbaugh hasn’t wasted much time extending new offers out to many talented tailbacks with the latest going to Melbourne (Fla.) Holy Trinity Episcopal 2018 running back Jashaun Corbin.
“Coach Jay Harbaugh told me to call him and he offered me while on the phone,” Corbin told The Michigan Insider. “My reaction when he said it, I was speechless. Couldn't say anything, but thank you!”
Corbin, a 6-foot, 184-pounder, holds offers from the likes of Florida State, Tennessee, Mississippi, North Carolina among others. However, his offer from the Maize and Blue has him now taking a much closer look at the Wolverines, which could include a trip up to Ann Arbor.
“Very interested,” said Corbin. “One of the top schools in the country! I know their in the Big Ten and that they are one of the top notch programs out there! Elite athletes and a great coaching staff! I also like the tradition they have there. The fans are crazy about the team. They play top competition and the coaches will push you to your limits and make you the best player you can be. Yes sir (I want to visit Michigan). I have to talk to my family about it. We are going to try get up there.”
While there are no early favorites in his recruitment, the Wolverines have definitely risen in his eyes.
“I don't have a leader right now, but Michigan is definitely (up there),” said Corbin.
