George Bell: "I have a top two now."

Running back/fullback George Bell from Fayetteville, N.C., Jack Britt is home from his Michigan official visit. I talked early this (Sunday) evening to George and his mother.

- Running back/fullback George Bell (Sept. 6 official visit, 5-11, 225 lbs., 4.5 in the 40, 365 lb. Bench press, 2.5 GPA) from Fayetteville, N.C., Jack Britt told me:

"I enjoyed myself. I liked what the coaches were talking to me about."

Mrs Bell: "Michigan offered him a scholarship."

George: "I talked to Coach Carr and he made me the scholarship offer. "

What other visits do you have planned? You had Virginia scheduled for the 28th of Sept.?

"No others this month. I have UNC scheduled for Oct. 6th and Miami the 18th. That's probably it. I might go to NC-State, but I don't know -- I've already been there enough."

Mrs. Bell: "He was supposed to go to Virginia Tech this weekend, but he is taking the SAT."

George: "Virginia Tech wants me to visit in December, but I want to have my decision made before I'm cleared to play again."

Do you have a list of favorites?

"Yes, I have a top two. NC-State and Michigan. State is the local school, and I've liked Michigan for a few years now."

When do you think you'll be back on the field?

"I just don't know. It's week to week. Hopefully soon."

Note: Bell is expected to be100%; he just had the kind of ACL tear that takes a year to heal fully. He gained 1100 yards as a freshman, then 864 as a soph before breaking his hand, and 529 on 70 carries last year. He is's #53 prospect, and Tom Lemmings #22 prospect.
