Michigan leads for Sunshine State DB following visit

Naples (Fla.) 2018 safety Sammy Faustin traveled up to Ann Arbor this past weekend and now has the Maize and Blue out in front for his services

There have been several prospects that have recently visited Michigan, but arguably the farthest visitor came from Naples, Florida in 2018 safety Sammy Faustin. The Sunshine State standout was offered by the Wolverines last month and looked forward to visiting Ann Arbor, which certainly lived up to his expectations.

“It was great,” Faustin told The Michigan Insider. “I got to meet all the coaches and watched pro day from (Defensive Coordinator) Coach (Don) Brown’s office. I also toured the campus. I talked to most of the coaches and we just talked about getting to know each other.”

The 6-foot-2, 175-pound rangy defender got to see what the Maize and Blue have to offer on and off the field, which was also very impressive.

“I think it’s a great school in both football and academics,” said Faustin.

Where do the Wolverines sit in Faustin’s recruitment following his visit?

“(Michigan) really stands out,” said Faustin. Yeah, (they lead).”
