The recruiting process didn’t start right away for Orion (Ill.) High 2019 tight end Logan Lee, but that all changed a month ago when as a few programs officially entered the mix adding a few offers. One of those programs were the Wolverines that extended an offer and this past weekend, he took a visit to Ann Arbor. The rising tight end prospect reflects back to that trip.
“It went very well,” Lee told The Michigan Insider. “I started off getting a little tour of the football training room, weight room and locker room. I then went int the two indoor facilities where I met all the coaches. We watched practice for a while, then we were informed about all the education paths I could go, then I went on a campus tour. I finished the day going into the Big House. I’m very thankful that I had the opportunity to visit and learn so much about their great history and traditions.”
Lee also talked to head coach Jim Harbaugh and tackles and tight ends coach/run game coordinator Greg Frey, who discussed his experience on the mats and the benefits it brings to the gridiron.
“I talked to Coach Harbaugh and Coach Frey the most,” said Lee. “They talked to me about my wrestling background. We just talked about how much my wrestling helps with body control, positioning, hand fighting and aggressiveness.”
What was the 6-foot-5 225-pounder’s favorite part of his visit to Michigan?
“Meeting the coaching staff and watch how they interact with their players,” said Lee. “That is important so I can see the way they coach, and the fact that I was able to pick up on some drills.”
After visiting the Maize and Blue, Lee walked away very impressed by what the Wolverines have to offer and hopes to return in the future.
“I am very interested in Michigan along with several of the other schools I’ve visited,” said Lee. “Michigan is very nice because they offer so many different majors and their history is incredible. I really hope I have the opportunity to visit again.”
Lee is now working to get up and visit Notre Dame next
