Detroit (Mich.) East English Village Prep 2018 center Tyrone Sampson has started to become a well-known commodity not only in the Midwest but nationally as well.
The Motor City lineman has dominated in several camps as of late including at Nike’s Opening regional in Cleveland, where he earned an invite to The Opening in Beaverton, Oregon. He has also made several visits with his most recent to Ann Arbor to check out Michigan’s spring game, where he enjoyed his time.
“Everything went well,” Sampson told The Michigan Insider. “I didn't get a chance to talk with any coaches because I had to leave. I just really liked the competition of the game and how competitive they were.”
The Scout 300 offensive lineman also got to talk with a few other elite linemen during his time spent in Ann Arbor with Wolverine 2018 commit, Emil Ekiyor and current Wolverine offensive lineman, Cesar Ruiz.
“Yeah, I am (tight with Emil),” said Sampson. “He's a pretty cool dude and I also got to chat with Cesar Ruiz. It was real nice and we talked about the transition from IMG to up here in Michigan.”
After a successful visit to Michigan, Sampson’s interest continues to rise, but how impactful would an offer from the Maize and Blue be in his recruitment?
“I'm very interested and an offer would definitely change the game,” said Sampson.
While Sampson doesn’t hold an offer from the hometown Wolverines, he hasn’t ruled out maybe camping this summer to hopefully land it.
“Yes, I possibly will (camp),” said Sampson.
Next up on Sampson’s visit agenda are trips to Pittsburgh and Syracuse on Monday and Tuesday
