Simmons, during his two-year stint with Ohio, averaged 15.9 points and 6.5 assists per game last season. Simmons originally entered the collegiate ranks with the University of Houston before transferring to Ohio.

Simmons will be entering a roster where point guard minutes are up for grabs. With Derrick Walton Jr.'s departure, Xavier Simpson is currently the only point guard on roster with signee Eli Brooks coming to Ann Arbor later this year. The three will be expected to fight for playing time this season.

Simmons was not immediately available for comment.
