CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Devontae Dobbs put on a clinic on Saturday, proving he is indeed one of the best offensive linemen in the 2019 class.
Dobbs, who stars at Belleville (Mich.) High, won the majority of his 1-on-1 matchups at Under Armour’s Cincinnati camp and earned an invite to the Under Armour Future 50 junior combine, which will be held later this year in Orlando, Fla.
Dobbs’ performance further solidified his four-star status. And his talent, well, hasn't gone unnoticed by top schools either, with Michigan State, Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, Florida State, Florida, Notre Dame and Clemson all showing interest, says Dobbs.
In fact, he says he plans on checking out all of his schools of interest in the near future.
“I want to see a family environment,” Dobbs said. “I really want to start building relationships with coaches and see where I fit at, see the schemes and learn about the whole atmosphere.”
Dobbs, who was offered at Michigan's annual recruiting barbecue in August, says he’s been on consistent contact with the Wolverines coaching staff. However, he says he's still unable to give a proper gauge of Michigan yet, because he says he hasn’t been on campus enough to know what U-M’s program is all about.
“I can’t really say for sure yet because I haven’t taken that many visits (to Michigan), like time management has been messed up, so I have been up there lately,” he said.
Though, if or when he does visit Michigan again, he has an idea of what he would like to see his next time on campus.
“I want to see high energy. I want to see how the coaches interact within the game, the game situation and stuff like that.”
Upcoming, Dobbs says he would like to check out Oregon, USC and Clemson.
