Derrick Walton Jr. has reportedly earned an opportunity to impress NBA scouts and to prove he belongs at the next level.
According to The Verticals Shams Charania, the U-M point guard has reportedly earned an invite to the NBA Combine.
Charania also reported that a handful of guaranteed first round talents such as Josh Jackson, Malik Monk and Lonzo Ball plan to skip the event, thus opening up positions for those who were on the outside looking in. Walton was originally named as an alternate in the event.
Walton finished the 2016-17 season averaging 15.5 points, 4.79 rebounds and added 189 total assists.
