Sunshine State DE Ahanotu hoping to hear from U-M

Florida defensive lineman Mayan Ahanotu discusses his interest in the Wolverines and what an offer would mean to him

Tampa (Fla.) Berkeley Prep 2018 defensive lineman Mayan Ahanotu continues to see his recruitment soar. With over a dozen offers, the Sunshine State standout saw many programs take interest in him and have flocked to see his school in recent weeks.

“My recruitment is picking up and I thank God every day for that,” Ahanotu told The Michigan Insider. "NC State, Georgia, Miami, Rutgers, Missouri schools like that came through recently. Schools that I'm hearing from and have not offered are Penn State, TCU, and Georgia.”

One program that has yet to reach out is the Michigan Wolverines. While there hasn’t been any contact, the 6-foot-4, 250-pound versatile lineman admits he would definitely be interested if they came calling.

“No, I haven't heard from Michigan at all,” said Ahanotu. “I would love to hear from them. I know that they have great academics and athletics.”

With interest in the Maize and Blue, what would an offer mean if it came his way?

“It would mean a lot just due to the history and tradition that they have,” said Ahanotu.

He added that he would also like to visit Ann Arbor sometime in the future
