Since returning from Rome, the Wolverine coaching staff have hit the ground running and have been very active targeting prospects in the Peach State by extending several new offers. One of those offers went out to one of Georgia’s finest secondary prospects in Powder Springs (Ga.) Hillgrove 2019 cornerback Jaylen McCollough.
With nearly double-digit offers, he already has many suitors, but his latest offer from the Maize and Blue will be an offer he plans on heavily considering moving forward.
“I called (Linebackers) Coach (Chris) Partridge and he told me the coaching staff enjoyed how I played and they wanted to offer,” McCollough told The Michigan Insider. “I was very excited. I was not expecting it this soon. I thought this offer would come later in my recruitment. Michigan is a good school and has a lot of great tradition, so I will be taking a close look at them. Michigan is just a very good school, so once you pick up this offer, it’s something to look at.”
After picking up an offer from Michigan, the 5-foot-11, 187-pounder plans to see Ann Arbor in the near future and learn more about the Wolverines.
“I am trying to get up there at the end of this month,” said McCollough. “I will just be looking and learning more about Michigan really (when I go visit). Me being from Georgia, the north will be a huge eye opener for me.”
Will proximity to home play any factor for the Peach State standout?
“Not really, I am trying to go wherever best fits me, so distance really isn’t a factor,” said McCollough.
At the moment, McCollough has no scheduled visits coming up and is focused on spring ball
