In reverse chronological order: during the evening I got a call from Safety Jamar Adams (Sept. 6 official visit, 2003 U-M Camper, 2001 U-M Camper, V-Tech Nike stats: 6-2 1/2,193 lbs., 4.13 sec. shuttle, 33.2 inch vertical jump … 3.0 GPA/940 SAT) from Matthews, N.C., Butler, who told me:
"Things are looking pretty good. I am really big on what happened last weekend. My mom was really impressed too. And Eric Campbell called me Sunday night but I wasn't home. So I'm not sure what I'm going to do next. I might be ready to make my move soon, we'll see."
Before I heard from Adams, I'd called the home of WR Adrian Arrington (2002 U-M Camper, U-M Nike stats: 6-4, 177 lbs., 4.5 in the 40, 32.4 inch vertical, 4.28 sec. Shuttle … 3.5 GPA) from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, George Washington. He wasn't home from practice yet, but his mom had the answer to what I wanted to know: was Adrain coming to U-M for the Notre Dame game this weekend?
"I have not heard anything -- and he talks everything through with me. So he is not going up at this point. Michigan has not called him since Sept. 1st, so he hasn't talked to them since then."
And the mother of RB Greg Coleman (6-0, 205 lbs., 4.5 in the 40, 2.6 GPA) from Iowa City, Iowa, West told me (Greg wasn't home from practice yet either):
"Greg is not going anywhere this weekend, not as of right now anyway."
By the way, ESPN's Game Day will be broadcasting from Ann Arbor Saturday -- from the U-M Golf Course. For the whole story go to U-M's website: MGoBlue.com
