U-M offer means "a lot" to LSU commit

Michigan offered earlier this week the No. 1 inside linebacker in the state of Louisiana and LSU commit, Southern Lab’s 2018 phenom Damone Clark. He talks about his offer from the Wolverines, possibility of visiting and more

Within the past few weeks, there have been several new Michigan offers extended out in Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas and Louisiana. One of those offers to recently go out in the Bayou State was to LSU commit, Baton Rouge (La.) Southern Lab 2018 inside linebacker Damone Clark.

Although this offer came out of nowhere for the talented linebacker, he’s still very excited it came.

“I was actually surprised,” Clark told The Michigan Insider. “I didn’t think Michigan would actually offer me. You know how you’ll never think [a program] would offer? I thought they might be one. I didn’t expect it, so I’m stunned still. It means a lot because they didn’t have to offer me, but they see potential in me and did it.”

With his latest offer from the Wolverines coming to the 6-foot-3, 210-pound Clark as such a shocker, his familiarity towards the Maize and Blue is very low, but now is a school he looks to research and even take a visit down the road.

“I’m very interested,” said Clark. “I would love to go see it in person. It’s just some place I’ve never been.”

One aspect that that does jump out to Scout 300 linebacker prospect without getting to campus yet is Michigan’s Jordan gear.

“(I like that they are the) only school that’s sponsored by Jordan in football,” said Clark.
