Drake Harris says he's moving to cornerback with tweet

The former receiver tweeted on Monday that he will be moved to corner this season.

The Michigan coaching staff has apparently done some offseason shuffling with their roster.

Drake Harris, who enrolled at Michigan as a wide receiver, tweeted Monday night that he will make the transition to cornerback, a position where depth is needed.

Harris would be competing for playing time with talented early enrollees Tarik Black and Donovan Peoples-Jones, as well as other receivers that will be enrolling in the fall. The move allows him to compete for playing time in a position that needs depth and is filled with young players. Sophomores David Long and Levert Hill are the expected starters at the position.

The move to corner could also mean a change of number for Harris, whose Twitter account lists him as No. 12.

Harris, who has struggled with injuries during his player career at U-M causing him to see limited playing time, has two years of eligibility remaining.
