Chesapeake (Va.) Oscar Smith 2019 athlete Cam’Ron Kelly has started to see his recruitment take off. A few months ago, four-star sophomore phenom had no offers to show despite his breakout season last fall with 48 catches for 753 yards, five touchdowns and defensively, having 35 tackles, eight interceptions, 13 pass breakups and a forced fumble.
However, he has since reeled off offers from Auburn, Duke, Maryland, NC State, Penn State, Syracuse and Tennessee among several others. He recently saw his offer list continue to grow when he added another to the mix from Michigan.
“I was excited to receive an offer from the University of Michigan,” Kelly told The Michigan Insider. “There are no words to describe how I feel about [the offer] to be honest, it's just amazing and a blessing.”
After landing an offer from the Maize and Blue, the 6-foot-2, 193-pound playmaker is even more intrigued in the Wolverines because of their strong combination of athletics and academics.
“I'm very interested,” said Kelly. “I know they are a great football team and also have great academics. They have a really good med school and I'm highly interested in that. I have the chance to play big-time football while getting the best education if I ever decided to go.”
Moving forward, Kelly now plans to get up to Ann Arbor in the near future and learn more about everything Michigan has to offer.
“Yeah, sometime in the summer for sure (I plan on visiting),” said Kelly. “I want to see how the coaches interact and I just want to learn more about the program as a whole and the campus life.”
Kelly visited Florida State this past weekend, but has no other visits upcoming
