One of the top promising prospects coming up in the Peach State is Thomaston (Ga.) Upson-Lee 2019 defensive tackle Travon Walker. The early four-star prospect continues to see his stock rise and that trend recently carried on when the Wolverines extended an offer.
“Michigan had stopped by like two weeks ago and told my coach and when he told me (I got the offer) I was just amazed,” Walker told The Michigan Insider. “I was already interested by the great season they had, but the offer just made me look into them more.”
The 6-foot-4, 255-pound Walker plans to learn more about Michigan not being too familiar, but is aware of the aggressive and attacking style defense under Don Brown.
“I like the physicality of their defense and they get everybody to the ball, but I really don’t know much else,” said Walker.
Moving forward, Walker does plan on visiting Ann Arbor in the future as well as several other programs. However, there are no schools sticking out to him at the moment.
While it’s still early in the recruiting process for Walker, he’s in no rush to make a decision but does have the criteria set for what he’s looking for in a school.
“I’ll be looking for my major, somewhere that I have a good chance of getting playing time as a true freshman, coaching staff and a winning program,” said Walker.
