“It’s a real big offer because Michigan is big school up in the rankings and they are just one of the biggest schools out there,” he said. “It’s very rare that a Florida kid gets an offer from Michigan.”

And now that he has his Michigan offer, Merriweather-Lewis says his next step is getting on campus for a visit.

“I want to see what the O-line looks like,” he said. “I haven’t seen that many games either.”

Adding: “I know they are a great school just because No. 1 they are able to play in the snow. One of my biggest dreams is to actually play in some snow.”

Upcoming, Merriweather-Lewis will be taking a trip to Louisville and Tennessee this summer. He also says when he goes on these campus trips; he’s looking for certain criteria in each program.

“The main thing is their academic program,” he said. “Because I now if they don’t have a good academic program, I can’t get anywhere in life.”
