Class of 2020 athlete Dawson Ellington, from Atlanta (GA) Woodward Academy, earned an offer to play for Michigan on June 9th.
"I was surprised," he told The Michigan Insider. "Michigan was a school that I really liked."
As for his interest level in Michigan, Ellington has the Wolverines at "medium interest," but only for a specific reason.
"I want to keep everything medium interest right now," Ellington stated. "But towards my senior year, Michigan will probably be in my Top 5."
The 5-foot-11, 175-pound athlete plans to visit Michigan in July or "sometime this fall."
Ellington has earned scholarship offers from Alabama, Florida Atlantic, Louisville, LSU, Michigan, and Tennessee. He especially likes Michigan's coach, Jim Harbaugh.
"I like the system he runs," said Ellington. "From what I have seen from videos, I can tell he has a great personality and amount of energy."
While he is listed as an athlete, Ellington is primarily being recruited as a defensive back. Since he is so young, things could change. Believe it or not, Ellington was in middle school when he received his first scholarship offer from Louisville.
