Class of 2020 defensive end Samuel Anaele, from Miami (FL) Norland, earned an offer to play for Michigan. He is one of the best young prospects in the 2020 cycle.
"To be honest, I wasn't expecting the offer," he told The Michigan Insider. "I was just doing my drills the best way I could. I was positive that I would get an offer from Michigan, but I was not expecting it."
Anaele earned the offer from Michigan in front of the staff at the Florida Atlantic University camp.
"The camp was great," said Anaele. "I bonded very well with the coaches from Michigan. They told me to stay focused, keep my grades up, and keep playing well. I also bonded with other coaches."
The 6-foot-4, 227-pound athlete has offers to play for Florida, Michigan, Oregon, and Tennessee, which he earned over the course of 72 hours.
"It was a great feeling," he added. "I am grateful to God for the offers."
Anaele is looking to win the district title this year for Norland High School. He is also looking to improve his individual game. As far as his recruitment goes, he currently does not have any top schools.
Michigan has offered three defensive linemen in the 2020 class, including Bryan Bresee, Myles Hinton, and Anaele.
