Michigan baseball coach Erik Bakich tweets he's staying with program amidst courtship elsewhere

After reportedly a candidate for the vacant South Carolina head coach position, Erik Bakich tweeted that he's staying in Ann Arbor on Wednesday night.

After seeing a record number of his players selected in the MLB Draft, Michigan baseball coach Erik Bakich gave the program more reason to remember Wednesday night.

As the quote goes: Those who stay, well, you know the rest.

Bakich will do just that after what appears to be a tweet of a handwritten note stating his intentions to stay in Ann Arbor Wednesday night.

"Quick note to say thank you to Michigan, Warde Manuel, Bitsy Ritt, our coaches, staff and players for allowing me to continue to wear the Block M," Bakich's note read. "It is an honor and privilege to serve as the head baseball coach. We have so much to be proud of in our 151-year tradition-rich program and the future continues to be extremely bright. Those who stay will be champions."

According to SEC Country's Mike Wilson, Bakich was reportedly in the mix for the vacant head coaching position in South Carolina and was expected to interview for the position. Alas, the Gamecocks will have to look elsewhere to fill the vacancy.

Also, according to Angelique Chengelis of the Detroit News, U-M athletic director Erik Bakich was in the process of offering Bakich a new five-year deal.
