On Thursday, Michigan hosted one of the top upcoming pass-catchers in Collinsville (Okla.) 2019 four-star tight end Grayson Boomer. The talented youngster came in hoping to learn more about the program and left with much more including an offer from the Maize and Blue.
“We just toured the place and obviously talked to Coach Harbaugh for a while. At first, I had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming (laughter), but he was so friendly and genuine. He just told me I had an offer and I was blown away. He also said you remind us of Jake Butt and you would fit right in. I’m one of the biggest Jake Butt fans ever. Watched him since the 7th grade.”
The 6-foot-6, 225-pound Boomer has gotten out to see several schools so far in his recruitment, but after getting to experience Michigan, his interest has risen and so has his comfortability.
“Very, very interested,” said Boomer. “It was so far away I thought I wouldn’t feel comfortable, but it felt very good and I did feel comfortable. Just how genuine everyone was made me feel so comfortable. Every part was amazing.”
With over double-digit offers and counting, Boomer has many options to consider. However, his latest offer and visit to Michigan has them as one of his early suitors standing out.
“There’s quite a few, but Michigan left a deep impression because of everything and everyone was fantastic,” he added.
In addition, he also said he will be attending Michigan’s first game down in Dallas when the Wolverines open the season against the Florida Gators.
