Better Make That a "Baker's Trio" of Visitors

Michigan is hosting four official visitors this weekend for the Purdue game (not three as some 'error-prone' writer said on this site this morning!). Here are the four -- including Indiana DE/TE Ryan Baker.

('Baker's Trio' equals four ... get it?)

- DE/TE Ryan Baker (Oct. 25 official visit,, 2003 U-M Camper, 6-5, 235 lbs., 4.9 in the 40, 3.5 GPA) from Indianapolis, Ind., Bishop Chatard. ON Oct. 22nd his dad confirmed that he was coming in for an official visit the Ost. 24 weekend: "Tom, that's absolutely true. His first official visit was to Purdue,Oct. 4th for the Illinois game. This past weekend he was at Oklahoma. This coming weekend it's you guys, Michigan. Then on Nov. 1st he goes to to Boston College." He also attended the Sept. 13 Notre Dame game and the July 26 U-M Open House, after which his dad told us, "Will Johnson and Roger Allison were both there and Ryan talked to them. Will and Roger have actually been to our house!" He is's #22 Midwest area prospect.

- Cornerback Rod Council (Oct. 25 official visit, 5-11, 180 lbs. … 4.45 in the 40 at the Shrine Bowl Combine ... 3.8 GPA/960 SAT) from Charlotte, N.C., West Charlotte. On Oct. 10 he told us he'd moved his Michigan visit up from Dec. 12: "Yes, to October 25th. For the Purdue game. We wanted to visit for a game. My coach is going to go with me. And also we thought that a Dec. 12 visit would interfere with the high school playoffs." His other official visits: to his three favs Notre Dame Sept. 20, Virginia Oct. 18, and Virginia Tech Nov. 1st. He would also like to visit Florida State or Miami. He was impressive at the V-Tech Nike Camp, which was scouted by U-M Coach Campbell. He is's #32 Atlantic area prospect.

- WR/TE Jaison Williams (Oct. 24 official visit, USC Nike stats: 6-4, 215 lbs., 4.57 in the 40 … 10.75 sec. 100m, 260 lb. Bench press, 2.6 GPA, June 7 SAT) from Culver City, Calif. On Oct. 21 he told us, "I was just talking with Coach English like a second ago. We finalized my airline schedules and stuff. I also talked to Coach English last Friday. He told me that they've been trying to get a hold of me and that they were still real interested in me and wanted me to come to Michgian. I was glad to hear that. Michigan is definitely my number one school, that's what I told the 'SC guy' too." After Michigan the talented receiver trips to Oregon - November 7th, and Washington - December 14th, and USC - January 4th. Right now he list his preferences, in order, as Michigan, USC, Washington, and Oregon. He is underrated as's #73 Pac Ten area prospect.

- DE Dwayne Hendricks (Oct. 25 official visit, PSU Nike stats: 6-4, 250 lbs., 4.8 in the 40, 30 inch vertical jump … 3.2 GPA/910 SAT) from Millville, New Jersey. On Oct. 21 his coach told us, "Michigan actually kind've wanted Dwayne to come in later, after the season, because of 48 hour visit rule. But he's coming early Friday (Oct. 24) so he should get the full visit time in. We visited a lot of places in the spring with Dwane, including Michigan, but this is Dwayne's first official visit ... Miami is the competition when it comes down to it." Hendricks is also looking at Iowa (Dec. 12 visit), Ohio State, Notre Dame, Miami (Jan. visit), Florida, Georgia Tech, and Oklahoma. In his first six games this season he has 44 tackles and a sack. As a junior he made 65 tackles and three sacks. He is's #32 prospect.
