Weekend Visitors: Hendricks - "It was Excellent"

Millville (New Jersey) DE Dwayne Hendricks was one of four official visitors this weekend for Michigan's 31-3 victory over Purdue. GoBlueWolverine Magazine caught up to the big man Monday morning, as he enjoyed a day off from school, and talked about how things went.

Dwayne Hendricks (Oct. 24-6 official visit, PSU Nike stats: 6-4, 250 lbs., 4.8 in the 40, 30 inch vertical jump … 3.2 GPA/910 SAT) was 'kicking it' around the house Monday morning on a day off from school. He returned from his second trip to Ann Arbor last night, after watching the Wolverines easily handle the Purdue Boilermakers 31-3 on Saturday. "It was excellent, there were a lot of people there and that was really nice," he said. "I was walking around before the game and people were calling my name, that was nice, especially because it wasn't people from my home town. I got to talk to some of the players Friday night and we walked around the campus and the dorms. I got to talk to the players and the coaches, especially Coach Carr and also Coach Sheridan, the defensive line coach. And I talked to some of the academic counselors. It was a very impressive trip."

Hendricks had a chance to check out the town of Ann Arbor and really enjoyed it. "I got to check out some of the restaraunts," he said. "I liked the town, there's not a lot of crime there so I don't have to worry about that."

Hendricks' host was Brandent Englemon, and he was also able to spend some time with fellow New Jersey player Jeff Zuttah. "We talked about the campus and how they adjusted to it," Hendricks said. "I was asking them what other schools they were looking at and why they chose Michigan; there were some other very good schools they listed and they said they just loved it at Michigan."

Hendricks will make his decision in January, possibly at the U.S. Army All-Star game. "It's possible I'll make it there," he said. "I have a visit to Miami after that, I think on January 6th, so I may wait until after that."

The big man said he really didn't have a top list but this trip certainly put Michigan up there for his choice of schools. His coach told GBW late last week that it may come down to a battle between Michigan and Miami.

Millville is 3-3 this season and faces off against Absegam this Friday.
