A <b>New Michigan Recruit</b> pops up on the radar screen!

Wide Receiver Mario Hines (5-10, 160 lbs., 4.4 in the 40 {Miami Camp time}, 20 ACT) from Ecorse, Mich. was fired up about what he saw: "It was really nice, really fast paced. I liked that. And the coaches told me it was actually a light practice, because of the bye this weekend. I really like how they do things."

What coaches did you talk to?

"Coach Herrmann, Coach Campbell the receivers coach, and Coach Malone the offensive coordinator."

What did they say about setting a visit?

"For an official visit,they told me it would be late December or early early January. They will call me back in a week or so and set it. But they invited me for an unofficial visit to the Ohio State game, and I definitely plan to do that."

You went to the Miami Camp this summer, but not the Michigan Camp, correct?

"Right. I didn't go to the Michigan Camp because I didn't think Michigan would recruit me. Their receivers were all 6-2 and up. But then this fall I saw Steve Breaston out there, and realized Michigan would use a scatback type receiver, and I got interested. Had I known Michigan would use a scatback receiver I'd definitely have gone to the Michigan Camp."

What did Michigan say to you about a scholarship offer?

"They said they were going to try to have one for me by my official visit."

What position do you see yourseld playing?

"Well, I played cornerback this year, and had three interceptions. But I prefer receiver."

Do you have any other official visits scheduled?

"Yes, Miami on December 5th."

Who has offered you a scholarship so far?

"Arkansas, West Virginia, Marshall, and Bolling Green."

Is your season finished?

"Yes. We were 1-8. We had a young team, and were playing our third string quarterback most of the season. I finished the year with 17 catches , for 545 yards and five touchdowns, plus I had another touchdown on a and punt return."
