Chad Henne Sets Visit Date

Recently GoBlueWolverine Magazine spoke with the father of West Lawn (PA) QB and U-M commit Chad Henne. He told us his son had spoken with Coach Scot Loeffler about a visit date. Thursday evening Henne confirmed the date with GBW, and told us of some folks he planned to call.

A little over two months after pledging to play football for the University of Michigan, West Lawn (PA)QB Chad Henne said he's finally going to officially visit the Ann Arbor campus. "Coach Loeffler called the other day and we set the visit for the weekend of December 12, 13 and 14," Henne said.

Henne has been on the Ann Arbor campus several times during his recruitment, most recently for the Notre Dame game on Sept 13. Does he expect to see anything new on this visit? "Not really, I just want to go up and have a good time," he said. "I'm looking forward to the trip."

Wilson finished the football season 7-3 and just missed the playoffs. Now Henne is concentrating on basketball. He plays center for the West Lawn team, though he said he won't be playing both sports at Michigan. "No, it's strictly football when I go to Michigan," he said, chuckling.

As you'll recall, Henne and U-M prospect Cameron Colvin sat together during the entire Notre Dame game, which was Colvin's official visit. Have they spoken since? "No, but I have his number and I definitely plan on calling him soon," he said. "I'll also be calling Adrian Arrington from Iowa."

Henne said he and Loeffler also talked about playing time. During his initial recruitment Henne had told GBW that the U-M staff said he would red-shirt his freshman year. Then he was told he would get a chance to come in and compete for the job right away. "They're still going to give me the chance to come in and compete right away," he said. "I'm happy I'm going to have a shot.
