Washington DC WR Doug Dutch’s (6-0, 190 4.34) Gonzaga High team lost in the championship game this season. He finished the year with 22 catches for 320 yards and 8 touchdowns on offense and had 45 tackles and 6 interceptions on defense. Recruiting has intensified since the end of his football campaign, and he’s already taken 2 visits. A school was in his last night and he’s slated to visit Michigan this weekend. He fills us in on where things stand prior to his trip to Ann Arbor.
What school was in your home this evening?
Florida was in my house tonight. I haven’t visited them yet officially, but I’ve seen them unofficially a few times.
What schools have you visited thus far?
Would you say that visit moved those schools up in your eyes? Speculation was that you gave a commitment to Miami.
Well, it just gave me a hands on opportunity to see the way they do things, so it helped the recruiting process from that standpoint. But the talk about me committing to Miami isn’t true.
Would you say that they’re your leader?
I’ll say that they’re one of my top schools, and my top schools at this point are the ones I’m visiting.
Will your parents be coming with you on your visit to Ann Arbor this weekend?
Yes they will.
Do they have any preferences at this point in the process?
It doesn’t matter to them.
What are some of the things you’ll be looking for?
I just want to get a feel for the school and see how it is.
You’ll be playing in the Army All-Star game. Is it possible that you’ll make your choice there or will you definitely be taking all of your visits?
I’m pretty sure that I’ll take them all.
GBW will catch up with Doug again after his visit.
