Chris Perry Named SI First Team All-American

Michigan running back <b>Chris Perry</b> was named to Sports Illustrated 2003 All-American team Wednesday. Two other Wolverines also received recognition.

Chris Perry led the Big Ten Conference and ranked fourth nationally in rushing this season at 132.4 yards per game. Perry garnered All-Big Ten first team honors and earned the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year. He has rushed 315 times for 1,589 yards and scored 17 touchdowns this season. Perry also added a Michigan running back-record 42 receptions for 366 yards and two touchdowns.

OL Tony Pape made second team and Steve Breaston made honorable mention as a return man.

Oklahoma quarterback Jason While was named SI Player of the Year and LSU Head Coach Nick Saban received Coach of the Year honors.
