Perry Wins Doak Walker Award
Chris Perry's added another honor to his mounting collection when he took home the Doak Walker award at the 2003 Home Depot College Football Awards banquet in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Perry, who finished the year ranked fifth in the nation in rushing with 132.4 yards per game, beat out Kansas State's Darren Sproles and Virginia Tech's Kevin Jones for the prize give to the country's best ball carrier. The next stop on Perry's schedule is the Heisman Trophy ceremony in New York City.
