Re Kyle Mitchum: "Everything is status quo."

So said Jon Cacchione, head coach of Pa. offensive lineman Kyle Mitchum who visited Ohio State this past weekend.

Erie, Pa., McDonald offensive lineman Kyle Mitchum (Jan. 9 official visit, 2003 U-M Camper, 6-5, 270 lbs., 340 lb. bench press, 5.0 in the 40, 2.9 GPA) made his official visit to Ohio State this past weekend, so we decided to find out there things stood with him. So we called his coach, Jon Cacchione, this noon. Here's what Coach Cachcione told us:

"Kyle's Michigan visit(scheduled for Jan. 9) is definitely still on. He's not going to commit anywhere until after that - at least. It's always been Iowa (in-season official visit), Ohio State and Michigan for him -- and that hasn't changed."

"Since he's only scheduled three visits we have a lot of colleges trying to schedule a visit -- especially in the past couple days since they've heard Kyle did not commit to Ohio State on his visit last weekend. But I think it'll just be the three. We went to a LOT of places on unofficial visits, so Kyle got to see a lot of programs."

"Coach Ferentz was just in Kyle's home last night. I think Coach Carr will wait until January to come in and see him."

Mitchum is's #30 prospect, and he will play in the US Army All American Game.
