Pomona (Calif) DL/LB Eugene Germany had originally planned to announce his college choice at the Jan. 2 CaliFlorida All-Star game. He has since changed his announcement date. GoBlueWovlerine Magazine recently spoke with Germany to find out when that date will be.

Hoping to announce his college choice with teammate Keston Cheathem, Pomona (Calif) DL/LB Eugene Germany (Oct. 18 official visit, USC Nike stats: 6-3 1/2, 248 lbs…. 4.65 in the 40, 2.3 GPA, ACT 12/13) decided to move his announcement date so he could make on more visit. "I wanted to take my visit to USC on the 16th before I announce," Germany said. "It wouldn't be right for me to announce and then take another visit. I'll probably announce around the 20th now. I'll let the coaches now."

Germany recently returned from a visit to Tennessee. The Vols moved up the list for the big guy. "I really like it there," he said. "The team was real cool and they showed me the ring from their national championship team and said I could come there and get one myself. Now my top teams are Michigan, USC, and Tennessee."

Germany said he is looking forward to getting out on the field to play in the CaliFlorida game. As part of being selected to play he and Cheathem, along with the other participants, will attend the Rose Bowl game on Jan. 1 between Michigan and USC. Germany won't say for whom he'll be rooting for, but he did attend a Wolverine practice. "Keston and I went down to see the team practice on Saturday, "Germany said. "We talked to all the coaches and a lot of the players and it was really cool. They looked good."

Germany said he was invited to attend a USC practice as well. "I was going to go one of them too but now I don't think I can with the dead period here," he said.

GBW will have Germany's announcement as soon as it is made so stay tuned.
