Colvin Looking for Lots of Passing in Rose Bowl

GoBlueWolverine Magazine spoke with De La Salle (Concord, Calif) 5-star WR Cameron Colvin Tuesday night. As he ready's to head to Texas for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl he had some thoughts on the upcoming Rose Bowl match-up between two of his favorites.

"I get asked everyday who I'm going to root for in the Rose Bowl," De La Salle standout WR Cameron Colvin (Sept. 13 official visit, STAN Nike stats: 6-1, 188 lbs., 4.31 in the 40, 3.85 shuttle, 32.4 inch vertical, 13 bench press reps. … 2.8 GPA/16 ACT) said. "I'm just hoping to see a good game and I want to see them throw the ball a lot."

Colvin, one of the nations hottest recruits recently narrowed his list down to three schools, Michigan, USC, and Miami. He will have a busy January with visits to Oregon (1/9), USC (1/16), Miami (1/23), and Florida State (1/31). "I may not take the visit to Florida State though," he said. "I'll make my announcement on signing day." Colvin recently told GBW that Michigan coaches Ron English and Lloyd Carr will squeeze an in-home visit during January as well.

A whole slew of local players will be accompanying Colvin on his visit to Oregon, including three from De La Salle. "I'm going up with about nine guys from the west coast," he said. "Terrance Kelly and Willie (Glasper) will be going up with me as well. Jackie (Bates) was going to go but he already committed to Oregon so he's not going."

Colvin is already working out and is helping the kids that will be part of the De La Salle team in 2004. One thing he mentioned is that he may run track this spring. "I'v never run track before but they may need a guy on the 4X100 team," he said. "I would have been running with Willie and Jackie, but with Jackie hurt I don't know who the others will be now."

Colvin said he leaves Sunday for Texas to get ready for the U.S. Army game and is looking forward to competing against some of the best high school talent in the country. GBW will be there to bring you up to the minute reports.
