GBW's US Army Game Bonanza Starts With Colvin

Just because the Rose Bowl is (finally!) upon us doesn't mean we're neglecting recruiting! We have visited with both head coaches and a myriad of Michigan-recruit-players in San Antonio today. Here is a US Army All American Game report Bonanza -- just the thing while we're waiting for the Rose to bloom!

First -- we talked to Calif. WR Cameron Colvin.

WR Cameron Colvin (Sept. 13 official visit, STAN Nike stats: 6-1, 188 lbs., 4.31 in the 40, 3.85 shuttle, 32.4 inch vertical, 13 bench press reps. … 2.3 GPA/16 ACT) from Concord, Calif., DeLaSalle told us this (Wed. evening):

"I'm one of the starting wide receivers for the West Team with my friend Early Doucet. Early has had a hamstrong problem but he plans to play."

"On the West team I've talked to defensive lineman Alan Branch a lot -- he talks about Michigan all the time! (note: stay tuned for an interview with Branch, including an 'announcement to announce')."

"I've also talked to (Michigan QB commitment, playing on the East team) Chad Henne a bit; we will sit down and talk some more."

"And I've talked to Alabama running back Max Martin (Michigan QB commitment, playing on the East team) quite a bit -- every time I seem him he says, 'Go Blue!"

"I've been asking the coaches to make sure we are off tomorrow to watch the Rose Bowl game."

"I got an 860 on SAT, I'm excited about that. If I get B's this year II'll be qualified. And I'm on my way to doing that."

Colvin is's #16 prospect. His West Team Head Coach has raved to us about him -- stay tuned!
