Hoopsters Finish Pre-Conf. Slate With Easy Win

Michigan finished their pre-conference schedule with an easy win in Madison Square Garden versus Fairfield Saturday. They start Big Ten play Wednesday.

There is not much to say about Saturday's ganme against the overmatched Fairfield. Michigan started the first half with a 10-2 run and finished it with a 10-0 streak to go into the break leading 30-19. The Wolverines quickle increased their lead in the second half to 42-24, and coasted in from there.

Bernard Robinson led Michigan with 19 points and Daniel Horton addded 17 (including 4-8 three pointers). Dion Harris added 13 asnd Lester Abram 11. Michigan shot 47% for the game and held Fairfield to 32%.

Michigan finished the pre-Big Ten with a 9-2 record. They open Big Ten play this week with a favorable early schedule against the conference teams with the worst records: Wednesday at home against Northwestern, followed by Indiana at home next Sunday, then going to Michigan State the following Saturday.
