Germany Set to Announce After USC Visit

Pomona (Calif) LB/DE Eugene Germany was set to announce his choice of colleges along with team-mate Keston Cheathem at the CaliFlorida Bowl game. While Cheathem kept his end of the bargain Germany decided to wait until after his last visit. GoBlueWolverine Magazine spoke with Germany Tuesday evening.

Pomona (Calif) LB/DE Eugene Germany is considered the top linebacker on the west coast, though he is most likely slated for the defensive line in college. Already 250 lbs and with blazing speed for a big man, Germany has only been lifting weights for one season so he projects to get a lot bigger once he is in a college weight training regimen. Some see him playing at 280 lbs.

Germany's team-mate Keston Cheathem did commit to Michigan over Washington State. Will Germany be joining him? "I don't know, it could happen, but I want to take my last visit to SC before I announce," Germany said. "I've met a lot of the players there (at USC) but I want to see how they are away from football."

With the final two schools on Germnay's list being Rose Bowl participants Michigan and USC, the topic of the game came up. "Michigan didn't play very well," he said. "I think they could beat USC but the lines didn't do the job."

Germany said he enjoyed the whole CaliFlorida experience but was upset with the outcome. "We had two pics taken to the house," he said. "Our defense only gave up a touchdown and a field goal"

Germany said he will make his announcement shortly after returning from his USC visit.
