John Thompson (Jan. 9 official visit, 2003 U-M Camper, 6-2, 210 lbs., 4.6 in the 40, 3.2 GPA) made his choice for Michgian public after returning from his official visit to the Ann Arbor campus. "I committed a couple weeks ago but I wanted to wait until after the visit to make it public," Thompson said. "I've always liked Michigan, it's a great school."
While he says his commitment is solid, the recruiting process isn't over for the talented linebacker. "I'm going to visit Florida this coming weekend," he said. "Then I might visit Tennessee the following weekend." Would anything change his mind? "No," Thompson said. "I'm solid for Michigan and the coaches know I'm taking the other trips, they're ok with it. Florida has offered me a scholarship but Tennessee hasn't yet."
Thompson said he was able to hang out with some of the other Michigan targets during the visit but there were no other commitments as far as he knew.
