Atkins Flip-Flops Visits

Booker (Sarasota, FL) OL Dumaka Atkins was scheduled to visit Michigan this weekend followed by a trip to Tallahassee and Florida State next weekend. Things have changed. GoBueWolverine Magazine spoke again with Atkins and he updated his schedule.

Booker (Sarasota, FL) High School OL Dumaka Atkins (6-4, 280-lbs, 300-lb bench press, 3.25 GPA/1110 SAT) flip-flopped his visits and will now trip to Florida State this coming weekend and follow that up with a visit to Ann Arbor next week. "I'm just ready to get it over with," Atkins said. "There was really no particular reason other then it just worked out best this way so I can go ahead and make my decision and end it."

As GBW reported earlier Atkins had some visitors of his own recently. "Coach Moeller was here on Tuesday," he said. "We talked about where I fit in and when I'll go for my official visit. The Florida State coaches were here on the same day. Bobby Bowden and Coach Higgins were here."

Atkins said he's going to let his visit help him decide where he'll go. "Michigan is an o-line factory, they put a lot of guys in the NFL," he said. "Florida State is the pretty much the same. I don't have an idea yet where I want to go so I'm going to see what happens on my visits, wherever I feel most comfortable is where I'll go. I'll decide when I get back from Michigan. I'll just call the coaches and let them know."

The trip to Michigan will give the talented lineman his first opportunity to meet Head Coach Lloyd Carr. "He's not coming down for an in-home," Atkins said. "But I'll get to meet him when I go up for my trip. I'm looking forward to it."
