Williams Nears Decision

GoBlueWolverine Magazine reported earlier that Ja'Kouri Williams, the running back from Plaquemine, La., had some visitors this past Thursday evening. Since then Williams has been quiet. According to his mother a decision is near.

Michigan Head Coach Lloyd Carr and assistant Fred Jackson were in the home of Ja'Kouri Williams (Dec. 5 official visit, 2002 U-M Camper, 5 foot 11, 180 pounds., 4.35 in the 40, 2.2 core GPA/18 ACT) Thursday night. Williams, a running back from Plaquemine, La., is TheInsiders #48 prospect.

Saturday morning GoBlueWolverine Magazine spoke with Williams' mother to get an update after the visit. "Yes, the coaches were here and things went well," she said. "It's still down to Michigan and Tennessee. Ja'Kouri is going to be thinking about it over the weekend and he'll decide early next week."

Mrs. Williams did not say whether Ja'Kouri would be taking a trip to Auburn this weekend. The younger Williams earlier told TheInsiders he would be tripping to Auburn on Jan. 23.

In a previous interview Williams told GBW that even though Michigan already has two running back commitments in Mike Hart and Max Martin, "I think I can come in there and play," he said. "It may not be the first year but it would definitely be soon after that."

Williams paid a visit to Ann Arbor on Dec. 5 and went to Tennessee on Dec. 12. Williams told TheInsiders that his favorite part of his trip to Tennesee was, "Just being around the players. We also got to go to the T.I. concert on Friday night, and I wasn't expecting that."

We'll have more on Williams and his timetable soon, stay tuned.
