Germany Decision Postponed Again

It's been a trying week for defensive star Eugene Germany from Pomona, Calif. High School. After postponing a scheduled Tuesday announcement until later this week, the big man has decided to further delay his decision. Thursday evening GoBlueWolverine Magazine spoke with Germany to get the latest.

"Man, I just don't know," Eugene Germany (6 foot 3 1/2, 248 pounds) from Pomona, Calif. High School said. "My mom asks me what my heart says and I just don't know. I'll need some more time to think about it. I have until signing day."

Germany said he was going to think about it at least through the weekend. He said he sat down with his parents last evening to go over the pros and cons of each school, but wouldn't divulge the results to GoBlueWolverine Magazine. He did say the pressure from friends was building. "I'm getting a lot of pressure from Chilo (Rachal) and Tom-Tom (Thomas Herring) to go to USC, and Keston (Cheathem) is pushing me to go to Michigan," he said. Herring and Rachal have already verbally committed to USC while Cheathem announced his verbal commitment to Michigan at the Jan. 2 CaliFlorida Bowl Game.

USC Head Coach Pete Carroll was in the Germany home on Tuesday evening, along with assistant coach Steve Sarkisian. Michigan coach Ron English paid a visit on Wednesday. Germany earlier denied reports that he had made a verbal commitment to USC during his visit this past weekend. He refused to name a leader at this time.

Germany's stats: (Oct. 18 U-M official visit, USC Nike stats: 4.65 in the 40, 2.4 GPA, 17 ACT)
