Germany May Wait Until Signing Day

Eugene Germany from Pomona, Calif. is not committed to any school, according to him. He is now seriously considering waiting until signing day to make his announcement. Also, another school is making a strong push for the talented defensive star.

Decision time seemed to be upon linebacker Eugene Germany (6 foot 3 1/2, 248 pounds) when the Pomona star returned from his Jan. 16 USC visit. A report in a Los Angeles paper reported Germany's commitment even while he was still on the Trojan campus. It seems someone failed to inform the big man of his commitment, though, and he has decided to put off his decision, possibly until Signing Day, Feb. 4.

"I still don't know," Germany said. "Now Oregon State is trying to get in too so I'm probably going to wait until Signing Day to decide."

According to Germany the finalists are still USC and Michigan. Once again this week he will have visitors. "Coach Orgeron and Sarkisian will be here on Thursday," he said. "Then Coach English and Coach Herrmann will be here on Friday or Saturday. Coach Sheridan may be here too."

Germany said he would be looking over his 'pro's and con's' list again on Monday.
